CLIMATE CHANGE: A THREAT TO THE WORLD!

From the last year 2019 or before, that many protests are being taken place regarding climate change. Now, we have less than 12 years to save Mother Earth.  Climate change is really a very critical issue, or in other words, a threat to humanity. In this blog, we will briefly discuss some facts about climate change. 

THE MAIN PROBLEM 

The main problem is not that the earth is getting warmer, the problem is that at a very high speed it is getting warmer. In fact, the UN says that we will be safe if the average temperature of the earth rises by 1, 1.5, or even 2 degrees celsius at the end of the 21st century. So, basically, we have to slow down the speed of the earth getting warmer.

GLOBAL WARMING V/S CLIMATE CHANGE

Many people get confused about global warming and climate change. So, let me help you differentiate between these two terms. 

GLOBAL WARMING means a long term or permanent heating up of the earth's surface because of increased levels of Carbon dioxide gas on the earth.

CLIMATE CHANGE includes global warming and also many changes that are taking place on the earth which include rising sea levels; and melting of the glaciers.

WHICH COUNTRY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SO MUCH POLLUTION?

Top 5 Polluted countries in the world:

1. CHINA-30%
2. THE UNITED STATES-15%
3. INDIA-7%
4. RUSSIA-5%
5. JAPAN-4%

HOW TO STOP THIS?

1. Use resources of all kinds efficiently.
2. Eat the food that you buy, do not waste it.
3. Use water carefully.
4. Reduce the use of plastic.
5. Avoid using transport if possible. Instead, you can use cycles and in the future, we will have e-cars. These cars will run on electricity.
6. STOP cutting of the trees.
7. Increase awareness about climate change in your community.
8. Avoid wasting electricity.
9. Switch to solar energy. 

   

WE KNOW, BUT WE IGNORE

We know all the tips I told in the last paragraph, but we rarely follow it. We all have to understand that this is not just about saving the mother earth from climate change, but also about the human species. It is the biggest threat to humanity. We all have to agree that climate change is a real thing. We always mind our own business. How can we mind our own business knowing that the biggest threat to the earth which can end all of us is about to come in a few years? We cannot blame any particular country for climate change, we all are responsible for this. This is not a time for us to argue on politics and all but to unite together snd fight for this. We have less than 12 years to save the earth. We have to come up with a plan to save the world. We do not have the right to blame the government if we do not do something ourselves to save the world. 

ISLAND COUNTRIES WILL SUFFER

As glaciers will melt, the melted water will go to the sea. And the sea's water level will increase. Ultimately, countries near the sea also called island countries will shrink underwater. The Maldives is predicted to shrink by the year 2030. Kiribati, Tuvalu will also shrink. Almost all the island nations will disappear by 2030. Wished this could be 3030! 

CLIMATE CHANGE SCARY EFFECTS

In the last paragraph, I just discussed one of the effects of climate change, now we will discuss more of them.

1. Wildfires which means fire in forests will be common.
2. 8% more population will be suffering from water scarcity by the year 2100 or even before!!
3. Coral reefs could disappear.
4. Trees will be reduced in number.
5. Less rain...
6. Desertification of many areas.
7. Polluted air to breathe.
8. Animal and plant species will be extinct.
9. WE ALL WILL DIE!!

Practically thinking these effects are really scary and hazardous. We have to do something, come up with a plan to save the world from the biggest threat to humanity.
