Have you ever thought you are dead? Have you ever thought that your family member is replaced by an imposter? Our body is full of mysteries. And here, in this blog, I am gonna tell you about 6 horrifying mental disorders that you haven't heard of. And I am sure that you will find these disorders even scarier than a horror film.

DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ? THEN WATCH IT-

1. COTARD DELUSION

In this mental disorder, the affected person feels that he is dead but he can walk, talk, and do other things that a normal person can do in their day-to-day life. They believe that their internal organs are affected. Like literally, they believe that they are no more living in this world. Well, this is a rare condition. It mostly affects old-aged people. This shows how mysterious the human mind is. Sadly, there is no treatment for this disorder.

2. WENDIGO PSYCHOSIS

Have you ever thought to eat human flesh? Most of you would say no. In this mental disorder, the sufferer is hungry to crave human flesh. This is really horrible. Let me tell a real-life story of a person who suffered from this disorder. His name was Swift Runner. During the winter of the year 1878, Runner and his family were starving and because of the starvation, his eldest son died. Then Runner ate his wife and the remaining children. This was not a case to avoid starvation. In fact, there was a grocery store 40 kilometres away from their place. So, this was rather a case of wendigo psychosis. Literally, it's horrible.

3. CAPGRAS DELUSION

This is basically a disorder in which the affected person thinks that his family member is replaced by an imposter (which means a person who pretends to be someone else) or he may think that his pet or home he is seeing right now is not his, but yes like his house, but not his house. This may seem complicated, let me give an example- A person called XYZ was coming back from the office to his home and he noticed something, he looked at a house and thought that it looks like his own house, but not his own house. In reality, XYZ owns that house but due to caps delusion, he is thinking that he does not own that house. Sadly, this disorder also doesn't have a treatment.

4. ALIEN HAND SYNDROME

Do both of your two hands belong to you? Well, what a disgusting question, right? Some people think that their hand does not belong to them. This syndrome is a neurological condition in which one's hand is not under their mind's control. Like literally, their hand moves the way it wants, it is not under the sufferer's control.
A few cases of Alien Hand Syndrome are reported until now.

5. BOANTHROPY

This is a mental illness in which the patient believes that he is a cow or ox. And he starts to live like them, live with them and eats grass!! Well, this is really very horrible for his family members. A king named Nebuchadnezzar II (634BC-562BC) suffered from this mental illness. Like literally, this king ate grass like an ox one day. This basically creates an illusion in the sufferer's mind that forces him to believe that he is an ox or a cow.

6. ALICE IN THE WONDERLAND SYNDROME

Well, do you remember this book and film? Or have you heard of it? This syndrome affects the vision of the patient. The size of their body parts or other objects is perceived by them differently or incorrectly. Like if the patient sees a door which is of normal size, but will be perceived by him as a very small door. Or a small rat will look big to them and many more such things will happen. The world will look different to them. Just imagine their mental state of mind. They would be so scared of going out.

Thanks for reading till here, here is a bonus for you-
1. FOREIGN ACCENT SYNDROME- In short, FAS affects a person's speech. Every person has a different accent of speaking like I have an Indian accent of speaking English and Americans do that in an American accent. In short, the accent is the way you speak a language. So, FAS affects a native person's accent. The patient will speak in a foreign accent. This is a mental disorder caused due to brain damage caused due to stroke or maybe a traumatic brain injury. Like if you speak  English in an Indian accent but due to FAS, you may speak it in an American accent or any other accent.
